Publishing dilemma

As PhD student you are always in a dilemma to get your articles published in journals or accepted to conferences. Not just PhD students have that dilemma, but as a PhD student you have to have certain publications finished in four years full time work.

This summer I have been working on a paper about electronic records use in time critical work. In time critical work, access and use of electronic records can serve as important sources of information aimed to base decisions upon. The electronic record should be trustworthy and can be important for critical decisions.

In the Swedish police electronic records are an important information source and gives the police officer a possibility to handle a situation tactical correct.

The paper I have been writing have been accepted for publication in the journal Archives and Social studies. The paper will be revised based on the reviewers comments this autumn, and be published in the issue published in March 2008.

After IRIS

I have been working one week since I returned from IRIS 30, the most enjoyable IS conference I have ever been participating in.

I think it is very difficult to start to work after the summer, but the work-load is heavy and I have nothing else to do than to speed up.

Happy PhD student

Two positive things have happened the last couple of days. First my paper from the EMCIS 2007 conferences has been encouraged to be submitted to a management journal. This means that the paper has some value;)

Another paper about EDM in SME's has been accepted for the IEEE/ACM conference on digital information.

But of course there are some papers that not was that successful ;)!!!

Happy weekend
